Hot springs are geysers that are heated geothermally. This means the groundwater is heated from deep underneath the crust of the Earth.

Geo-thermal heat. Or Heat generated from with-in the earth.

The source of heat for most hot springs is cooling igneous rock. (pg 138) Earth Science, Tarbuck 12th edition.

Geotherml energy needs fuel, a type of fuel called fossil fuel. which were running out of.

You don't need fossil fuel to get Geothermal Energy. Geothermal Energy comes from the earth's internal heat. You drill holes in the earth as deep as possible, Then you have pipes going through the holes with water. When the water will then me heated by the internal heat of the earth and will become steam. The steam is then used to drive a turbine which generates electrical energy. This is how they do it on Island.

This is how it works: When groundwater seeps below the earth's surface near a dormant volcano, the water is heated by reservoirs of molten rock, usually at depths of up to 9,800 feet (3,000 m). Wells similar to those used to produce crude oil and natural gas are drilled to recover the water. Once captured, steam and hot water are separated. The steam is cleaned and sent to the power plant. The separated water is returned to the reservoir, where it helps to regenerate the steam source.

In geothermal energy plants, water is injected into the ground. Underground, there are areas of rock that are heated by the presence of volcanic activity, such as magma near the surface. This heats the water, which comes back out of the ground very hot. A heat exchanger cools the water, which goes back into the ground. The heat from the heat exchanger boils another pipe of water into steam. The steam spins a turbine, which is connected to a generator, which creates electricity.
