Temptation itself is not a sin, as it is a part of human experience. It becomes a sin when one actively chooses to give in to the temptation and commit an act that goes against their beliefs or values. Resisting temptation can lead to personal growth and a stronger sense of self-discipline.
It is often said that certain persons will sell their souls to Satan to get personal wealth. It is a grievous sin to get gain at the expense of others. Though Satan cannot make you do his bidding he can put the temptation in your mind.

Temptation is controled by your frontal lobe which is in the front of your brain. It gets triggered by something that you really, really like, for example your walking down town and you see a beautiful Silk dress with your name written all over it, you've got to have it so badly, and you go in for the kill and buy it. Or if your someone who dsont like dresses take a cupcake for example, The smell is overpowerering, the pink icing looks sooooo good and worst of all theres a giant bit of your favorite chocolate on the top of the cupcake i know what your thinking YUM. That's temptation for you.***(before being deleted for silk dresses and cupcakes), it was pointed out that temptation (while true, is controlled -or not- by the frontal lobe), it is CONTROLLED by awareness of consequences or fear of consequences, morality, personal ethics, etc....Temptation is not always so simply represented by a tangible "item" or simple want, and therefore is governed by a complex process of, simply put, balancing the pros and cons within the confines of conscious and sometimes subconscious mind ***
