The holiday was first introduced in Japan in 1936. The candy industry began making heart-shaped chocolates in 1953. In Japan, women give chocolate to all their male coworkers, with the men reciprocating a month later on what is known as "White Day." A similar holiday has been celebrated in Japan for centuries, known as Tanabata. The holiday has no roots in the Judeo-Christian Valentine's Day, but the aims of celebrating love are similar.

People write names of people in their family, put them in paper lanterns and then send them down the Ohta river in hope that the spirits will find their way. It is on August 5th. It is held in Hiroshima in the Peace Park. America is responsible for it by dropping the bomb.( No offence)
