I don't know of any movies that have a scene like that which takes place in an attic, but try the movie "Prince of Darkness" directed by John Carpenter. There is a scene where a lady possessed by a demon is trying to pull Satan through a glowing mirror. Sounds like it could be it.
I did not witness a hit and run incident involving a side mirror.

A one-way mirror, also known as a two-way mirror, works by allowing light to pass through from one side while reflecting light from the other side. This is achieved by having one side of the mirror brightly lit and the other side in a dimly lit or darkened room. The brightly lit side reflects most of the light, making it appear as a mirror to someone on that side. The dimly lit side allows light to pass through, making it transparent to someone on that side.
A photo. A mirror produces a 'mirror-image'
When you shine light through a mirror, the light will reflect off the mirror's surface and bounce back. Some light may also pass through the mirror, depending on its transparency. Overall, the mirror will predominantly reflect the light due to its smooth and reflective surface.
