Depends on what you consider a super car, and in what year.
In general in my opinion it has to have over 550hp today.
In the 1980's 400hp was a big deal.
in the 60's V8 super cars had 450+hp. GT40's, Plymouth superbirds, 427 gt500's.
An IRL car has about 650 horsepower coming from a 3.5 liter V8 motor.
Depends on the year and car it was installed in.
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport is the car that has the most acceleration and horsepower.
the amount of horsepower generated from a v8 engine varies, there are different kinds of v8 engines like a v8 with a 72degree v,or a 90 degree V,the angle of the two blocks, the weight of the engine parts, the air intake, the sparkplug response, the air to fuel ratio compression, the cylinder capacity in diifferent v8 engines are different hence giving different horsepowers.so there is no specific amount of power that a super car gives as every car is different in design, weight and many other aspect that goes into manufacturing a performance vehicle.
either a super charged V8 or a super charged V10 depending on the car
My Chilton's Auto Repair Manual shows the ( 1987 ) Lincoln Town Car 5.0 liter / 302 V8 as : ( 150 horsepower )
The 5.4 Triton v8 should have about 260 horsepower.
383 Super Commando V8 - 335 hp. 440 +6 - 390 hp. 426 Hemi V8 - 425 hp.
TRY A TURBO OR A SUPER CHARGER.
A ford f100 with a 352 v8 has about 300 horsepower
4.2 liter V6 ( 205 horsepower ) 4.6 liter V8 ( 210 horsepower ) 5.4 liter V8 ( 235 horsepower )
V6: 210 Horsepower V8: 310 Horsepower
