What if a cell had no cell membrane?

The cell wouldn't be considered a cell, and the cell wouldn't be able to carry out it's functions and live anymore because the cell wall protects the cell by controlling what goes in and out of the cell. Without a protector, all the harmful materials would go into a cell and the cell would be destroyed. Also, for some cells, the cell membrane is the outside boundary, and it separates the inside of a cell and the environment around it. Therefore, without a cell membrane, all the organelles would spill out and the cell would die.
