It dies. lol Many geckos can let go of their tail if a bird or something grabs it, and then grow the tail back, but I can almost guarantee if a gecko looses it's head it will die.
A Gecko can only loose it's tail ,and survive.
Some lizards such as skinks loose their tails when grabbed.
This is an adaptation which not only helps the gecko to camouflage in its habitat, but it also helps the gecko escape from predators. If the predator grabs hold of the what it thinks is the head, the gecko can drop its tail and escape safely. The tail grows back with time.
Some gecko species such as the Crested gecko or the Gargoyle gecko can be born red. Throughout their growth, some may loose the red coloration and others may have the red color brighten.
They have the same name, but their color might be different. The spots and striped might be at their tail, the whole body, or the head. Their skin colors can be yellow, pinkish-orange, and that's all i know. :D
The holes positioned on the sides of the head are the gecko's ears canals. Tympanic membranes pick up air born vibrations enabling your gecko to hear.
Freeze it, suffocate it, or cut it's head off.
The adults can grow up to be about 36mm, in head and body length.
The Palmato Gecko, also known as the Namibia Fat-tailed Gecko, primarily inhabits the arid regions of southwestern Africa, particularly in Namibia and parts of South Africa. It prefers sandy or loose substrates, which allow it to burrow and hide from predators. This gecko is well-adapted to its desert environment, often being nocturnal and seeking shelter during the hot daytime.
A leopard gecko should not ever "loose" its nails. The animals shed their skin but nothing else. If your leopard gecko has lost fingertips, this is more than likely due to the animal having an irregular shed. Every leopard gecko setup must have a humid hide for this reason. If a shed is stuck on the limbs of a gecko, the dead skin will start to cut the circulation off to the finger/toe tips.
Yes, if your leopard gecko is shedding its skin, you may notice it looking dull or cloudy, and it may have loose skin that appears ready to come off. This is a normal process for leopard geckos as they grow.
The scientific name for Tokay Gecko is Gekko gecko.
