You should call your doctor or take them to the hospital ASAP. Tylenol ( the generic name is acetaminophen overdosing can cause very serious problems including death. You may not be able to see immediate problems however Tylenol is broke down in the liver if to much is taken it can damage the liver. The person may not have symptoms for days or weeks. THey may not even develop problems until they become ill and take another medication. The symptoms could even be very mild at first however after awhile will it cause multiple problems including multi oragn failure or death. The average adult should not take more then 4000mg in 24 hours. Two extra strength Tylenol are 1000mg. A child does not have a fully developed liver and therefore only be able to tolerate smaller doses. This amount would depend on there weight and age. Please get medical attention for the child if you think they may have taken more Tylenol then they should have.
