Salat, the formal Muslim prayer, is the criterion which distinguishes Muslims from non-Muslims. If you see a person offering salat, you may be certain that s/he is Muslim. Not praying is a serious sin. Additionally, Muslims who do not offer salat miss out on the many blessings of doing it. If Muslim notice that one of them is not offering salat, it is their responsibility to remind and encourage him or her to do it.

If Muslims don't pray, they will have more time to do other stuff.

Actually there are 8 prayer times but only 5 are the religious obligation (farz) other 3 prayers (navafills) are like if you dont pray them you dont do sin however if you dont pray (farz) prayers and you do sin !
