You make sure you have the correct DIN removal tool for that vehicle. If that doesn't work, then you take the vehicle to someone who knows what he is doing.
You need to get a universal radio din removal. The two little slits at the bottom of the CD player is meant for the din removal tools insert the tools and pull the radio out.

Remove the plastic trim panels to the left and right of the stereo with your fingernails or something that will not scratch the plastic. This will reveal four holes on each side. At a Radioshack type store you can buy DIN removal tools. But for a Double Din stereo you will need to buy two such packages. The instructions come with the package.

by daydreaming On my '95 Mazda Millenia you removed the thin fragile side trim(one each side) to reveal holes into which you insert the standard DIN radio removal tools - but since it is a double DIN radio you need two sets of these tools you can buy at Walmart or RadioShack,etc. After you pull out the radio part way you disconnect the plugs in the rear and antenna connections.
