What tools are needed to replace the timing gear in the 1993 Subaru impreza?

Same ones for a timing belt replace. Once the timing belt is off, the center crank gear just pulls off, and the outer cam gears pull off once the single center bolt is removed.

97 Tiburon Was doing a timing belt change and the woodruff key snapped off There a loud clank now when turning the car over the cam and crank do not move What are the chaces I messed up crankvalves?

if the cam and crank are not turning you cannot mess up the valves BUT if the crank is not turning ,you have a major problem,as the starter motor turns the crankthe crank should tun regardless of the woodruff key falling out at the same time if the crank turns and the cam doesnt the timing will be wrong and need the woodruff key replaced to keep cam and gears where they need to be

How do you loosen the timing chain to install cam gear?

How do you loosen the timing chain to install cam gear?..... Fact is: You don't, All you have to do is FIRST: aline the timing marks on the cam and crank gears ( they may aline facing each other or both off to one side. Caution: timing marks may be on the chain itself ( different color links, if this is the case then the timing will be of to the side ) Just rotate the crank until one or the other occurs Do Not allow either the cam or the crank to turn while the chain is removed ) Then remove the bolts in the Cam gear, and gently tap and pry on the cam gear till it comes of the end of the cam. Again: Do Not allow either the cam or the crank to turn while the chain is removed! Reverse procedure to reinstall. Be sure the new chain is timed exactly the same as the old one was.

How do you reset the cam timing and ignition timing on a 305 small block?

Cam timing you line up the dots on your crank and cam gears. Ignition, put #1 at TDC on compression stoke. With cap off distributor, turn rotor so it points towards #1 cylinder. Do not drop dist onto the oil pump slot. Turn the crank counter clockwise 1 full revolution until your distributor falls down on the oil pump. Then it should fire when you re-install the cap. Adjust timing accordingly with a timing light.

How do you take off the crank timing gear on a Chevy 350?

You have to pull everything out of the way that is in front of the engine, including the water pump and harmonic balancer. After all of that is removed, there is a cover over the front of the engine. Pull that and you should see the timing gears on the cam and crankshafts.

How do you align timing marks on 2000 Dodge Durango 4.7L?

There should be dots on both gears. Place cam at 6 o clock crank at 12. They will line up together in between the 2. It's easier if you put engine in this position (old gears with cover off) before you remove the old chain.
