There is no connection between the temp files and the registry
Many times Explorer will remove or disable the Folder Option in Tools but there is a way to deal with it. If Folder Options is disabled but Registry Editor is still working in your system, then you can enable Folder Options by editing Windows Registry.

Apple's OS X doesn't have a registry - the closest equivalent is the Library folder, which requires administrative privileges to make changes if it's the system's Library folder. Users have their own Libraries which they have rights to change.
If you've un-installed it (as opposed to just deleting the folder(s) - it'll have been removed from the registry.
