Usually they (conservation officers and etc) will fine you and in some cases are liable to withhold all of your fishing gear for an indefinite time. This would include your fishing rods, your boat, and anything that was used to assist you in fishing.
The best idea is just to go out and buy a license at your local vendor. Usually they aren't more than 20 or 30 dollars for a year (if you are a resident) and may also be bought online in some states. If you are a kid then ask your parents to give you some money for the worthwhile hobby, or you can even ask a relative friend if they will loan you some until you can pay them back (possibly with fish).
