There is no set way of acting for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transexuals (LGBT). People who think that gayness is defined by a personality trait are generally homophobic. Sexuality is not like a clique, it's not like race. You don't earn it, nor are you born with whatever your parents have. Cliques define your personality (because a "preppy" girl probably won't hang out with goths: she'll want someone she can relate to.), and race effects everything about your PHYSICAL appearance.
LGBTs can be anyone. Look on a random street. See, she's Aisan, that guy over there is black, that one is punk, that one is a twelve-year-old girl wearing AE. Looking on the street, not all men wearing purple suits are gay, and not all lesbians run around with mullets and pissed-off expressions.
You can't act like your not a lesbian. A lesbian dates girls, and if your friend isn't doing that, she might be bi, or straight, or trying to convice her parents she's not. Ask her for clarification, and quit being a bigot.
