What if you started working on a Tuesday and the factory pay period is Thursday do you get paid?

In most cases you will not get paid until after the first FULL pay period you have worked.
As an example:
You start work on Tuesday the 1st. Pay periods are every other Thursday with the next one occurring two days later on Thursday the 3rd. Since you would not have worked a full period yet, you probably would not be paid until Thursday the 17th - two weeks after the 3rd - at which time you would be paid for two weeks (a full pay period) plus the time you worked before the start of that pay period. This actually makes sense because the accounting works in cycles and there isn't normally enough time to get everything processed just a few days before the pay is issued. You don't get shorted any money, you just have to wait to get into the cycle.
