If he is a loser and doesn't care or is trying to be a player, I'd say leave him. Don't hurt yourself and hang on to a relationship that you can't be happy in. I went through that once and I'm never wanting to go through it again. Words will be said, because he will try to put you down, but stay strong no matter what he says. There is always a better guy out there somewhere you just have to find him.
