It is advisable to feed the dog food specially designed for that species. Cat food usually has far more protein and extra nutrients than dog food, and it can be very addictive for the dog. This can put the dog off its original dog food. But some dogs can eat cats food and can still eat its own food, if you give the dog cats food like 2 times a week.
