Throw it out
Either the other nozzles on the printer cartridge are blocked, the other colours are exhausted or the printer is faulty ! Borrow or buy another cartridge - if the other colours return - then replace your original cartridge. If the problem is still present, the fault is in the printer itself.
Each home printer requires a unique toner cartridge. It is essential to determine which type of ink your specific printer takes. If the owner's manual is still available, the number of the ink cartridge would be located in it. If not determine the model number of the printer; look on the manufacturer's website for the ink type. Consider writing the toner number directly on the printer for future reference.
If you change the ink cartridge without letting the printer driver reset, it will think you are still using the old ink cartridge. Install the cartridge again using the "install new cartridge option". If you follow these directions you should not have a problem.
Hi there. The cartridge may not be seated properly in the carrier or just needs cleaning. Try to remove the cartridge from the printer. Grab a damp paper towel and place it on the table. Set the cartridge on the towel with the nozzles facing down. Draw about 2-3 lines in one direction to wipe clean the nozzles. Re-insert the cartridge in the printer. Try to print. If it's still not improving, do some test pages or deep clean cartridges on the printer. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Did you replace /check the seats also?
HP ink cartridges have either a microchip or an electronic strip depending on what printer you buy. both do the same thing in telling the printer how much estimated ink is left in the cartridge. This should always be taken with a pinch of salt though as you often find that once the cartridge says that it is empty you can still print several pages on before it has completely run out
try the cartridge cleaning mode on your printer. you can also clean the ink dispensing section with q paper tower moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. last, if you just now got the cartridge from a store, return it for another new cartridge or refund.
When purchasing a replacement printer toner cartridge, there are two primary options.Original Equipment Manufacturer Cartridge (OEM)- The same manufacturer that made the printer makes an OEM. OEMs are almost always the most expensive option, but having the major brand name on it carries piece of mind for some.Compatible/Recycled Cartridge- Compatible and recycled toner cartridges are sold under a generic brand name, but function the same as an OEM. The cartridges are still subject to strict quality production standards, but can found for as much as half the price of an OEM.

You shouldn't use a dried out ink cartrige for anything but trash. It is better to just buy another.
Yes, HP injet printer cartidges can be refilled by yourself (inkjet refilling kits) or at a ink refilling store (ie: island ink). However, it is not recommended to use inkjet refilling kits as the formulation of the ink used in those kits is different from the genuine ink the original manufacturer uses. It is impossible to get the exact composition of the OEM inks since the formulas are closely guarded trade secrets.
