Mice aren't necessarily disease ridden animals or anything. Hantavirus is one disease you can get from wild deer mice mainly, however it is fairly rare. Ingesting mouse feces would likely get you ill as well. People give mice a bad rep but if you're careful, you are more likely to get sick from your cat than a single mouse living in your home.

∙ 15y agoA variety, but the most common are skin irritation from microscopic mites that make them scratch and scratch to the point of bleeding. Don't let this go untreated, mice will scratch their eyes out when it gets too bad. This can be treated, $50 or so to your local vet, who may give you medicine for it. Anther type is respiratory, this is caused by using pine bedding, or a poorly ventilated cage, unsanitation, or over sanitation with residual chemicals left in their cage. Sneezes are cute, but indicative of these problems.
