To get to the other side. To be first person to cross Atlantic by plane alone
The Spirit of St. Louis. Lindbergh made history with the plane, but did not design or manufacture it. it was a drastically altered Ryan Brougham with extra fuel capacity, instruments and other modifications for the ocean flight. In other words it was a custom job.
If only one was made- for the Airman, it would have celebrity history status and is probably in the Smithsonian Air And Space museum as is Lindbergh"s plane, duplicates of instruments used on the craft, and other mementios of the flight.
Charles II founded south carolina. I dont knoow about the other one though
I have read a number of books on Amelia Earhart, including some ( Fringe) ones and have never heard of this mascot. Maybe you are thinking of some other Aviatrix, maybe Anne Morrow Lindbergh ( in part due to the Lady Lindy nickname- many people have erroneously assumed that Amelia was married to Charles Lindbergh which is totally out of the picture!)
As far as the law in concerned the Lindbergh case is solved and closed. But like other famous murders, rumors persist and so does the speculation. Bruno Hauptmann was executed as the one and only kidnapper/murderer but there are many people, including his widow, that believe Hauptmann could not have acted alone, could not have carried out such a plan by himself. If there had been other(s) Hauptmann went to his grave with his secret.
It falls from the sky as raindrops which impact on the heads of people that are not able to take shelter.
LIndbergh, or Von Lindeman, if you prefer the German handle, was not known to be a Lady"s man, unlike Howard Hughes- also an airman. Mr. Hughes played the field- was attracted to Ladies as diverse as Jean Harlow, Bette Davis, Jean Peters ( his wife) and getting a bit more modern Gina Lollobrigida. His favorites were for Blondes, Harlow, for brunettes- Lollobrigida. Charles Lindbergh was married only once- to Anne Morrow Lindbergh- The Aviator was not, unlike Howard Hughes, a womanizer! On the other hand he was in a sense illegally involved in Politics and political action Von Lindemann! Progessive Industries! went one jingle.
she saved people from the romans
