unbeknowest to them, why would ask
Catherine the Great invented the white chocolate and even to this day her long lost relatives make the money from its profits.
Catherine was a young German princess when she was sent to the Russian court. The Czarina didn't have any children so she got two German minor princess and Prince to make her "family". She brought in Federick and Catherine ( she renamed herself to the Russian Catherine). Catherine was required to learn Russian, become a member of the Russian Orthadox religion ( she was Luthern) and to live life as a Russian. She did quite well in these things, but her relationship to Fredrick was not good. He had many problems and when she married him at 17 he was more interested playing with his tin soldiers on the bed than her. They were married 7 years before they had sex, but by that time she had taken lovers and was pregnant by the current lover. She made sure that Fredrick thought the baby was his so it could inherit the throne. Fredrick was always more interested in his toy soldiers, dressing in uniforms, and making the Russian army drill. Catherine will have a total of 4 children by lovers and became a very powerful woman in the Russian court. Eventually she will overthrow Fredrick, and put him under guard. There is evidence that she sent men to kill him so she could become monarch. She was Czarina for about 60 years, became a great collector of art, and oversaw the expansion of Russia.

No impact. Make for great legends and stories, but nothing more.
Peter the Great is the one most noted for westernizing or modernizing Russia. Catherine made some reforms, enlarged the country and continued to adopt western ideas, particularly as they applied to how a monarch should rule.

To make Russian Empire a European land. He was a Tsar of Russian Empire at early 1700's. He did established St. Petersburg (Petrograd, Leningrad) as the Northern Varposten in Russian Empire.
Catherine the Great was very open to the ideas of Enlightenment thinkers. People like Voltaire helped her form how she ruled her kingdom. She wanted to allow everyone a chance. Sadly, she is most remembered for expanding Russia's territory.
Elizabeth the daughter of Peter the Great brought Catherine to Russia from a minor principality in Germany. She also brought Fredrick of Prussia from Germany to marry Catherine. They were both in their teens when they arrived in Russia. Catherine took to becoming Russian from the start. She learned Russian, converted from the German Luthern church to Russian orthodox and changed her German name to Catherine. Fredrick on the other hand was more interested in wearing military uniforms and playing with toy soldiers. This would continue all of his life and when he became Czar he had whole armies to play with. The marriage between Catherine and Fredrick was not an intimate one and they were married 7 years before they spent the night together. By this time she was pregnant with a child from a lover, and had to make sure the child was accepted as part of the royal blood. She will have several lovers and more children in her life. At one point one of her lovers was a commander of the palace guard. They plotted to kill Fredrick and historical evidence points that assassination took place arranged by the lover. This is when Catherine became Czarina and took the title Catherine the Great.
