That's far too general a question to answer without knowing specific information about each coin:
- What's its date?
- What's its denomination?
- If they're U.S. coins, what's its mint mark?
As a rule of thumb:
- any cents dated 1945 or later are worth at most 2c each
- nickels dated 1946 or later are only worth a nickel (except for a 1950-D)
- dimes dated 1940 to 1964 are worth at least 90c for their silver
- dimes dated 1965 and later are worth 10c
- quarters dated 1940 to 1964 are worth at least $2.25 for their silver
- quarters dated 1965 and later are worth 25c
- halves dated 1940 to 1964 are worth at least $4.50 for their silver
- halves dated 1965 to 1969 are worth at least $2.25 for their silver
- halves dated 1971 and later are worth 50c
Anything that's earlier would have to be evaluated on a coin-by-coin basis.
If you sort out the common coins and want to convert them to bills, DO NOT USE ONE OF THOSE COIN COUNTING MACHINES that seem to be in every supermarket !!!! Most of them charge 8 to 10 cents for every dollar processed, so you've immediately taken a loss. Check with a couple of banks to see if they'll count them for free. In the Northeast there's a major regional bank (not allowed to name it, but their spokespeople are Regis and Kelly) that will count coins for free whether you're a depositor or not.

It depends on what coins they are.
When talking about US coins silver dollars and dollars with the CC mintmark are generally worth more.
Coins are measured in metric units so there's some arithmetic involved. SBA coins (also the newer "golden" dollars) weigh 8.1 gm each. A US pound is about 453.6 gm so there are 453.6/8.1 = 56 SBA dollars per pound. So 50 pounds of dollar coins would be worth 56 x 50 = 2800 dollars.
