a producer produces its own food
a consumer eats other animals or dead or decomposed animals, which means it can also be a decomposer
a decomposer eats decomposed or dead animals
a consumer is a creature that eats the producer like a bug, rabbit etc.
The consumers eat the producers. For instance, a cow eats grass.
Heterotroph include herbivores
Energy is transferred betweenproducers to consumers and decomposers in the food chain.
They are linked in a food chain by having the thing/animal at the top of the chain.
tertiary consumer
increases the number of consumers
In a food chain from producers to consumers .
what are Oranges producers or consumers in the food chain
No. Producers are at the bottom of the food chain.
Then no consumers will eat it and no food for 2nd consumers. Then no life
Energy is transferred betweenproducers to consumers and decomposers in the food chain.
Food that are not consumers are producers.
Animals are usually at the top of a food chain. This is because they are consumers. Producers (plants) are at the bottom of the food chain. The producers are consumed by the primary consumers (herbivores) who are then consumed by the secondary consumers ( carnivores ).

Producers and consumers
In a food chain, there are four crucial members. There are the primary producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers and tertiary consumers. An example of a food chain can be found in a stream found in a forest. The primary producers would be plant like producers such as algae that produce food energy for the primary consumers which would be small microorganisms, or very small fish. The secondary consumers such as salmon will feed on these primary consumers for food. The tertiary consumers such as bears will feed on the secondary consumers for their food.
The producers (plants), the consumers (animals) and the decomposers (bacteria) use the food chain.
