Hard to start, stalling, poor performance. Replace it an you will then know if it was needed.
Lack of power
Pre-filter for what? You posted this question in the Fuel Filter category. So I must assume you mean the pre-filter on the fuel pump. That is changed when the fuel pump is replaced.
Check fuel pump fuse. If you have changed the fuel filter on a 2000, you might have forgotten to put the rubber grommet between new fuel filter and fuel pump (look at your old fuel filter). WILD GUESS BUT WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER????? IF A FILTER IS GETTING CLOGGED IT WILL TAKE OFF OK BUT WHEN IT NEEDS A STEADY STREAM OF FUEL IT WILL HESITATE...........
The mk2 fuel filter is part of the fuel pump and it does not need to be checked/changed
fuel filter is recommended to be changed every 15,000 miles
fuel filter is in the gas tank and not recommended to be changed.
If it's been 30,000 miles since it was changed it needs a new one.
If you are in question about it you need to change it now. Then at every 6K miles Todays gas has a lot of trash in it.
Only need drained when water in fuel light comes on. Filter needs changed every 15,000 miles or once a year.
you do not need to change the fuel filter on it. It is a lifetime filter in the gas tank and never needs to be changed. I spoke to the Honda dealership about it a few months ago when I wanted to change mine and i couldn't find it.
High fuel consumption on an EFI could be caused by a bad O2 sensor. Another reason for high fuel consumption is a dirty air filter or oil filter that needs to be changed. Electronic Fuel Injection vehicles are also famous for clogged fuel injectors.
