Infectious mononucleosis (also known as EBV infectious mononucleosis or Pfeiffer's disease and colloquially as kissing disease - from its oral distribution - or as mono in North America and as glandular fever in other English-speaking countries) is an infectious, very widespread viral disease caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, which well over 90% of all adults are exposed to at some point in their life.

Mononucleosis ("kissing disease," EBV infectious mononucleosis, Pfeiffer's disease, Filatov's disease) comes from the Epstein-Barr Virus, which is a type of Herpes virus. Up to 90% of adults are exposed in their lifetimes. It was discovered in 1964 by Anthony Epstein and Yvonne Barr after being sent a tumor sample from a Kampala, Uganda hospital. The sample was gathered by Denis Burkett.
close contect with someone such as kissing or huging or talking very close to someone
It is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. It can be transmitted through direct or indirect exchange of saliva, hence the nickname "kissing disease."
Infectious mononucleosis, often called "mono," refers to a group of symptoms usually caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). It typically occurs in teenagers, but you can get it at any age. The virus is spread through saliva, which is why some people call it the "kissing disease."

Mano in Spanish means "hand". I believe you mean Mono, which is short for mononucleosis. Mononucleosis was dubbed the "Kissing disease" because it transmits very easily orally. It is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, a type of herpes virus, to which more than 90% of adults have been exposed. The symptoms are sore throat, extreme fatigue, sore and achy muscles, loss of appetite and weight. The virus has a long incubation period, 4-7 weeks, and the symptoms last 2 weeks to a month, sometimes longer. Since mononucleosis is a virus, it cannot and should not be treated with antibiotics. There is a drug by the name of valacyclovir, which has shown to reduce or eliminate the presence of the Epstein-Barr virus.
I suppose you're reffering yo the Epstein-Barr virus..? In this case, as I said, it's a virus widely present among our specie (like 90% of the population hace it). Most people can be asymptomatic (mostly because of getting the infection on childhood) and some one develop infectious mononucleosis (the "kissing disease" or just "mono").
Mono is caused by the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV). It is most often seen in adolescents and young adults. Children can get the virus, but it often goes unnoticed because their symptoms are mild. Adults usually do not get mono, because they are immune to the virus. Mono can be spread through contact with saliva, mucus from the nose and throat, and sometimes tears. Because the virus can be spread through kissing, it has earned the nickname the "kissing disease." If you have mono, you can avoid passing the virus to others by not kissing anyone and by not sharing things like glasses, eating utensils, or toothbrushes.
Hello fellow user! The mono virus, or the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) definitely has a lipid bilayer envelope. Since it is a member of the herpes virus family, all of them have a membrane layer or envelope. The fun thing about mono is that it is called the 'kissing disease' because it is transmitted by kissing right on the mouth. It goes by another term called infectious mononucleosis. Have a good day! 😄
Mononucleosis is often called "the kissing disease".
Mono, is sometimes called "the kissing disease. It is the spread of germs found in saliva that causes it.
