Her childhood home is in Domremy, France, and is an historical site today.
Yes, her childhood home still stands in Domremy and is a memorial and museum to Saint Joan of Arc.
Joan of Arc was born and raised in the little village of Domremy in a part of Eastern France known as Lorraine.
Joan was born in the family home (see image above) on January 6, 1412, at Domremy, Duchy of Bar, France.
She spoke French, there may have been some countrified Domremy ( not Do-Re-Mi) accent as this was her home pays ( not similarity to word peasant) country.
Joan joined the French Army at the age of 17 in the year 1429.
Joan of Arc lived in Domrémy (know today as Domrémy-la-Pucelle) a small village located in Eastern France. During her childhood her parents owned and operated their own farm on 50 acres of land. Her father also held a position as a village official, collecting taxes and heading the local town watch.
She left home and joined the army in 1429 at the age of 17.
Rheims (l429) and Orleans ( same year) are her best known campaigns. there was a poem about Joan of Arc which unfortunately had a rhythmic quality that suggested the upbeat song- Happy Days are Here again- and there were various towns mentioned in the song- not necessarily battle sites. Tours, Arles and Domremy ( her home town) reply- and Joan of Arc goes riding by- it sounds TOO much like ( Happy Days are Here Again!)
