What was Vlad the Impaler famous for?

Vlad III (1431-1476) was a Prince of Wallachia (now Romania), known as Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), aka Vlad Dracula. He was the son of Vlad II Dracul, a duke of Wallachia. The father's name indicated he was a member of the Order of the Dragon (Dracul). The father left Vlad and his younger brother as favored prisoners of the Turks, who educated them. But when Vlad assumed his father's dukedom, he engaged in cruel and sadistic practices such as impaling his enemies or burning children alive. This bloodthirsty reputation led to the adoption of his name for Bram Stoker's Transylvanian vampire character, Count Dracula.

What is the true story of Vlad the Impaler?

"Vlad the Impaler III, Dracula" was a warrior and reputed to have been a just, though a very harsh, ruler. His victories over the invading Ottomans were celebrated throughout Wallachia, Transylvania and the rest of Europe as well as Pope Pius II. By the time he came to power, he was set on revenge because of the atrocities done to his father, grandfather and family. If a visitor did not pay homage of courtesy to him by removing their hat, he nailed the hat to their head. He impaled prisoners, mostly the nobility to whom once the Dracul family had been kind and now wronged his family. He also tortured his prisoners, the same Turks who had murdered his father. His main way to torture his enemies was by impaling them on a stake, using their posterior half way up through the victim's body, standing him up and letting gravity pull the body down the stake. He then set up the impaled body of his enemies in his courtyard. Some say, he dined there, dipping his bread in the blood and eating it. DRACULA, inspired Bram Stoker who used the name, his bloodline; however, read his history and you'll know who the man he really was before he became known as "Vlad the Impaler."

Who created the rockets?

The way this is worded, The Rocket was an early train created by Robert Stephenson in the mid 19th century in England. Since this is a space question, the first rockets were known to be used in the Ming dynasty in China as a first attack weapon to kill enemies. If you need more proof, try watching the episode of Deadliest Warrior where Vlad Dracul (Vlad The Impaler) takes on Sun Tzu (who wrote The Art of War). This episode shows that the Chinese used a rocket weapon to good effect.

Are vampires really real in Mexico?

Answer 1No. Vampires are just mythological creatures.Answer 2However there are such thing as "clinical vampires". These are people suffering from a mental illness called Renfield's Syndrome (also known as Vampire Syndrome). This condition makes the individual display vampire-like behaviour, such as the desire to draw blood from another person via sucking their veins or arteries (not necessarily on the neck).Elizabeth Báthory and Vlad the Impaler are real people in history that are believed to have suffered from this condition. Vlad the Impaler was also the inspiration Bram Stoker used for his famous vampire story, Count Dracula. So, while vampires in the sense of creatures do not exist, vampiric behavior in the form of a mental condition does.

Why did Dracula suck blood?

Prince Vlad did drink blood. He would take his bread and dip it into the buckets of blood that he would put under the people he killed on the stakes. He was known for carrying out extremely cruel torture and executions. Prince Vlad had a man over for dinner one night. Vlad saw that the man wasnt very pleased. Vlad asked him, "What is wrong?" The man looked at him and said i cant stand the smell of all of the rotting corpes. Prince Vlad smiled and said well if you cant stand the smell... Vlad had one of his men cut of the mans nose. When the man was dead Vlad had him put on a stake to hang there driping with blood like the others. Prince Vlad smiled at the man and said "Well you wont have to smell the corpes any more!" He laughed rigth after. Early belief in vampires is thought to have come from people at the time not fully understanding the process of a body decomposing after death and so trying to rationalize this by creating the figure of the vampire to explain what they didn't understand. Historically, the name "Dracul" comes from group of knights in old Romania called the Order of the Dragon. Vlad II Dracul, father of Vlad III Ţepeş's (who is the person history calls Vlad the Impaler) was admitted to the order around 1431. The name Dracula means "Son of Dracul". In modern Romanian, it means "son of the devil" but in Vlad's time it meant "son of the dragon." Bram Stoker borrowed the name for his famous vampire novel, "Dracula," Stoker toured Romania while gathering material for his novel and heard of Vlad in his travels. However, he demoted his character to the rank of count. The real life Dracula was a prince. It was believed in myth that Vampires drank the blood of the living to keep themselves going. As blood is seen as the energy of life iteself, it makes sense that the undead would seek it.
