History has not recorded who invented the bat. The bat has been needed for the game since its invention and early bats were made by private woodworkers.

John Logie Baird's early inventions did not meet with success. Some of them were attempts at a glass razor, pneumatic shoes, and diamonds made from heated graphite. His most successful invention by far was the television.
I feel that Nikola Tesla enjoyed his worked inventions and took pride in them. No where in history, Nikola Tesla stated he prefered a specific invention.
