Vittoria is an Italian equivalent of 'fatah'. The word in Italian is a feminine gender noun whose definite article is 'la' ['the'] and whose indefinite is 'una' ['a, one']. It's pronounced 'vee-TOH-ree-ah'.
The word 'fatah' is Arabic for 'victory, opening, conquering'. It's the title of the 48th sura [chapter] of the Muslim holy book, the Qu'ran. The chapter deals with the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah that Muhammad ibn Abdullah [c. 570/571-June 8, 632] negotiated with the Meccans. It was a ploy to give the Meccans a false sense of security while Muhammad built up his forces. Once confident that he had what it took to win, Muhammad then broke the peace agreement. And interestingly enough, the word 'fatah' spelled backwards is 'hataf', which means 'death'.
