'Antefatto' is an Italian equivalent of 'prior event'.

The Italian word is a masculine noun. Its singular definite article is 'l'* ['the']. Its singular indefinite article is 'un, uno' ['a, one'].

It's pronounced 'AHN-teh-FAHT-toh'.

*The masculine singular definite article actually is 'il'. But the vowel 'i' drops before a noun that begins with a vowel. The temporary nature of that drops is indicated by an apostrophe: 'l'antefatto'.
