We have 13 of these coins and follow the market on them often. Right now they are worth a little over $300 each. That is without being graded and all that official stuff. They can be considered collectors because this was the first year that they used Roman / Arabic numerals for the date. Gold is currently selling for about $1000 an ounce.

As of today Feb. 23, 2011. $1410.10. This can change every day. You may want to check with coinflation.com.

Not enough information. Is this a modern bullion coin, or an older collectible piece such as the San Francisco $50 commemorative?

Please post a new question with more details.

The U.S. Mint did not produce gold half dollars. Yours is probably gold plated and actually has little numismatic value although some people do collect them. Their value is mostly whatever you are willing to pay for them but remember they are just a half dollar with a little gold plated on them.
