### What does 6 divided 7 and 7divided by 6 mean?

It is easier to see this with 3 and 6. The idea with 7 and 6 is
exactly the same, but no quite as easy to see.
6 divided by 3 is asking how many 3 there are in 6? There are 2
of them so 6 divided by 3 equals 2. 3 divided by 6 asks how many
6's there are in 3? We know there is only half of a six, that is to
say, 3 in one 3. So 3 divided by 6 is 1/2.
6 divided by 7 asks how many 7's in 6? There is not even a whole
7 in 6, since we are 1 short of 7. We can write it as a fraction
6/7 which is less than 1. One is 7/7 by the way.
But 7 divided by 6 is one 6 with something left over. The
something is 1/6 so it is 1 and 1/6
1 and 1/6 is the same as 7/6.

### What is the answer of 3 divided by 6 over 7?

The problem is 3 divided by 6/7. you can't divide a whole
without putting it into a fraction, so 3 becomes 3/1, so the
problem is now 3/1 divided by 6/7. to divide this, you have to
multiply the reciprocal, or 7/6. so 3/1 times 7/6 equals 21/6,
or
3.5
Note: You can also do 3 / 6 / 7 which would get you 14
