Quote from the Related Link: "What does proof mean when it refers to whiskey (and other distilled Alcoholic Beverages), and where did the term come from? Well, first here is the modern definition: proof is twice the percentage of alcohol by volume. Therefore, 100 proof is 50% alcohol. 200 proof is 100% alcohol."
80 proof means that the AC is 40 percent... which compared to beer is a ton but only 40 percent is not likely to assault your senses... if you want to experience "alot" try 151, its 75.5% alcohol and feels like burning when you drink it.
In the U.S., proof is twice the percentage of alcohol by volume. So 80 proof would be 40% alcohol.
In the U.K., proof is 4/7th the alcohol by volume. So 80 proof would be 45.7% alcohol.
That just depends upon personal preference. I like to keep mine in the freezer because the drink will stay cold longer and ice will not water the beverage down.
Eighty proof means that 40% of the liquid in the bottle is alcohol.
80% ABV in US proof is 160 proof.
80 proof is 40% ABV.
it is 80 proof which is 40 percent alcohol
They sell an 80 proof(40% alcohol) and a 100 proof(50% alcohol).
40% alcohol is 80 proof and about the average proof of many hard liquors.
well it depends on what proof that the liquor is if it is 80 proof then it will have 40 percent alcohol and soforth but most liqiour is 40 to 45 percent alcohol
The proof is 50 per cent of the alcohol content. 80 proof is 40% alcohol.
1 ounce = 28.3495 grams; 200 alcohol proof = 100% alcohol content. 2 ounces of 80 proof (40% alcohol) whiskey would be 56.699 grams of whiskey with 22.6796 grams of pure alcohol.
Alcohol proof is double the actual percentage of alcohol. 100 proof is 50% alcohol, 80 proof is 40%, and 65 proof is 32.5%
Proof = % alcohol x 2So vodka that's 40% alcohol by volume would be 80 proof. Wild Turkey, which is 43% percent alcohol, is 86 proof, etc.
Many distilled beverages are 100 rather than 80 proof or are available as both 80 and 100 proof. Smirnoff makes a 100 proof vodka, for example, as well as 80 proof, but so do many other producers.
Perhaps 100 or 94 proof ( = 50 or 47 percent alcohol) would work better than 80 proof (40 percent alcohol).
proof is double the alcohol percentage. 40% alcohol= 80 proof
Double the percent alcohol. 40% alc is 80 proof. 200 proof is pure alc.
