American Veterans Aid (AVA) was founded by a war era veteran who wanted to help other veterans and their surviving spouses apply for and receive the Aid and Attendance Benefit. AVA is a privately owned for profit company and charges a reasonable fee for its service, called a Pre-Filing Consultation. The purpose of the Consultation is to determine the Claimant's eligibility and in many cases assist those who are ineligible to become eligible. The company has a 100% money back guarantee - if the claimant is denied his or her Benefit by the VA, any fee paid to AVA is fully refunded. The company has a VA accredited Claims Agent on staff to help the Claimants prepare and present their VA application forms to the VA and represent them before the VA Claims Board. There is no charge for this part of the service. The Claims Agent is only 1 of 99 in the country who can do this. For a claimant who is overqualified for VA Benefits due to having too much in assets, AVA will assist them with moving a portion of the assets into a protected account. The Claimant always has a choice of either paying AVA a reasonable fee for it's services or taking AVA's financial advice in repositioning a portion of the assets into safe, conservative, and secure investments. Thus, if the Claimant chooses to reposition their assets, the financial institutions who conduct these transactions will pay AVA a commission.
