Coxsackie is an incredibly unpleasant disease which is typically found in children who are under the age of ten. It is also known as hand-foot-mouth disease, as one of its most common symptoms are blisters or other inflammations on the hands, foot, and/or mouth. It is also characterised by loss of appetite, severe fever, sore throat, and constant headaches. Coxsackie is a VERY highly contageous disease, and can become a major outbreak very quickly. If someone in your child's daycare centre or school is diagnosed with the disease, it is recommended that you keep your child home until the daycare centre or school has been disinfected. You should also wash your hands and shower often, using antibacterial soap. There has not yet been a cure for this disease, so if you or your child gets it, just try to keep the infected comfortable. Many children in developing countries have died from this disease. It is a very serious disease. You should seek a doctor immediately if you or someone in your direct family has any of the symptoms listed above. This is the best information I can find. If you have better, then I'd love to hear it! Thanks!
