Cancer can strike any gender or age group. Depending on the cancer type, various cancer treatments may be initiated in an effort to eradicate or kill cancer cells.

However, cancer treatments vary according to the stage of cancer is discovered, as well as location and overall health of the patient. Cancer staging is typically defined as Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4, ranging from early and localized to those that have spread throughout the body.

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth and division of cells. It can kill an organism by crowding out of normal cells, resulting in the lose of tissue. The main causes of cancer are environmental factors.

Normal cells grow and divide and they finally reach a certain size or a boundary. They will no longer grow unless they need to replace other cells in the same "plot". Cancer cells don't pay attention to these rules and over grow the boundaries and even grow over other cells in the same "plot". This forms tumors. They then spread (metastasize). These cells also don't perform the functions that they should. If cancer cells take over the liver, it can't do its' job. This will kill the person as they can't live out a normal liver.
