Delaware has three insects that are Official State Symbols but it has no Official State Insect. It has theLady Bug as the Official State Bug, the Stone fly as the Official State Macro-invertebrate and the Tiger swallowtail as the Official State Butterfly. Perhaps the presence of so many insects within their borders urged them to try some reverse Psychology on potential tourists. As for why, consider the possibility that some legislators may have been entomologists before being elected or that they simply had nothing better to do for their constituents on a particular day.
