Yes, they were made at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints.
Apparently there is no connection between the Franklin and New England mints other than they are in the same line of business more or less.
U.S. mints would allow unlimited conversion of silver at a rate lower than that of gold.
Philadelphia, Carson City, and San Francisco
The South African government mints the krugerrand in gold only. There are silver kruggerrands floating around but they are not minted coins so be careful.
There isn't really any numismatic or collector value to coins from places like the Hamilton and Franklin mints, so the value is primarily for the silver content. As of 18 July 2012, the market price of silver is $27.17 per ounce.
Yes. All 3 mints struck dimes in 1952
well it has 48 ounces of silver...silver is going for $33.00 an ounce..not sure the weight of the 24 karat gold, however gold is going for $1734 an ounce....plus you must factor in the certificates of authenticity and the franklin mints which are also worth some money.....again not sure how much... i suggest contacting a museum or antique appraiser. definately worth more than 5 to 15 bucks.
One full set (100) of Franklin mint history of flight coins sold at auction for $2350. Another set offered on eBay apparently did not sell at $1695. Of course the price depends on condition and on silver price at the moment. In the case of these coins, price also depends on whether they are in their beautiful Franklin binder, and whether they are accompanied with the separate factbook.
