What is the difference between an epiphone sg 310 and an epiphone sg 400?
the only difference i am aware of is that one has a larger pickguard......i have the epiphone sg 400 with the smaller guard....both are nice guitars. --stan the guitar man The G400 has a solid mahony body - the g310 has alder The G400 has a set neck - the g310 has bolt on The G400 has alnico V humbuckers the G310 has open coil humbuckers The G400 has trapezoidal inlays - the g310 has dots I think that's it The G400 is a nice guitar and an "upmarket" version, it retails at about £100 more than the G310. I believe the 400 says Gibson on the truss rod cover.

Can you put an SG pickgaurd on a g400?
I have an epiphone g400 and i suppose you do too. It has that small lower pickguard beneath the string like the '61 Gibson reissue, but you want the pickguard like the g310 has i guess. Well, pickguards sometimes cover up wiring from the knobs so i would check with a local guitar store to make sure you won't hurt anything. Rock on :)
What is the worst guitar?
Squire is garbage. Any no-name guitar is likely garbage and mostly anything that comes out of china is crap too. ================= Mexican-made Squiers are quite bad. The worst guitar brands I have played are First Act (as sold in non-music-instrument stores like Best Buy and Target) and Galveston. Not all Chinese-made guitars are bad. I have an Epiphone Emily the Strange G310 SG, for example, which is actually quite decent.
