Maybe from the name of Elvis' mansion. Graceland. The subdivision where the school is located is called "Graceland". This housing development was built in the 50's on property that at one time belonged to the people that lived in the Graceland mansion. Elvis eventually bought home in the early 1960's. The woman that originally owned that house and property was named Grace, thus Graceland. When the elementary school was built in early 60's it was named Graceland Elementary School to correspond with the subdivision's name. Elvis bought his home, Graceland, after the school was built and operating under the name of Graceland. In a nutshell, the school was named after the Graceland mansion and subdivision, but before Elvis ever owned it.
