Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets follows Harry's second year at Hogwarts. This book introduces the idea of blood purity, one of the main plots of the series. The story follows the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, the attacks on muggle-born students and starts to give more information about Lord Voldemort's past. We are also introduced to new characters like Gilderoy Lockhart, and see the development of future main characters, like Ginny Weasley.
