He believed that nature is guided by some kind of great force and intellect, which he called "logos" (greek "intellect" or "meaningfull speech") "God" or "the one wise". But he actually didn´t try to build new religion, he believed in greek gods - he didn´t think that this is a "God" to pray, but just a force to guide the world. He also thought that people keep at disposal part of this intellect, so the intellect is common to anyone.
