137-138So if they believe in the like of that, which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allah will suffice you against them. Here The Ayaat 2:138 presents religion as "coloring" Sibghah صِبْغِ the expression carries within itself several levels of meaning. But the immediate allusion is to a certain Christian ceremony i.e. the Baptism
But, the Arabic meaning of the word Baptism is that:
the adoption of Allaah's (God's) attributes and broad principles of faith bring out the real change in the mind and character.

All anyone needs to do to become Muslim is to say the Shahada (the profession of faith), which is "Ashadu an la Ilaha Il Allah WA Ashadu ana Muhammad an rasululah". This means "I bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship besides God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God".
For newborn babies, the Adhan (call to prayer) is whispered in their ear.

∙ 12y agoNo, Muslims don't get baptized. When someone enters Islam they simply say There is no God but Allah and Muhammed is His messenger. Then they usually take a shower and pray, but that's not part of becoming a Muslim.
