there is also a rice wine called sake(sa-ke) which is less sweet and is usually drunk not used in cooking though it is possible. out of all wines in Japan and throughout the world Japanese people will always prefer sake and it is thought a treat when sombody in your long extended family come home with a large casket of sake.
