Yeshua Ha'Moshiac (Jesus the Messiah). Pronounced Yah-shu-ah. It means victory, deliverance and salvation. Jesus literally means hail Zeus...but God is merciful and He knows we are praising Him when we say Jesus. Regardless, if you know the true name it is better to use it.
The original name of Jesus was:

Yeshua (ye-SHU-a)

Yeshua Ben Yosef (Jesus son of Joseph, to us)

"It is most proper to call Him Yeshua. It was indeed his proper name, given to him by his parents, and only in Hebrew does this name have any meaning. In Hebrew Yeshua means both 'Salvation,' and the concatenated form of Yahoshua, is 'Lord who is Salvation.'

The translation from Yeshua into Jesus comes from mistranslations and mispronunciations when translated from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English with different letters and pronunciations being used due to differences in languages and alphabets etc.

The name Yeshua is in the HEBREW language; Yes that would be original; -- or, in fuller form, Jehoshua, meaning in English literally 'Jehovah Is Salvation.' The 'Jeh' is the shortened form of Jehovah. (Compare with Halleujah; the 'jah' being another shortened form of Jehovah. Hallel meaning 'Hail' or 'praise'.) (Isn't the breakdown of words fascinating.)

The name Jesus itself was not that unusual; many other men were called by that name; therefore the reason often for further identification; ie 'Jesus the Nazarene' or 'Jesus the son of Joseph'.

Since Jesus was 'anointed', we have additional identifier of: 'Christ' as in 'Christ Jesus' or 'Jesus Christ'.

Answer:

Jesus had many 'original' Hebrew names and titles. The link below lists all. The term Jehovah is a later (perhaps 13th Century AD) Latinization of the Hebrew tetragrammaton 'YHWH' the personal name of God.

yes The answer actually is no. The bible of the original Hebrew text in Aramaic did not ever have the name jasus in it. As a matter of fact j did not even exist in any language until around the 1400's. The true and only name of your King and Savior is YHWH. Which is what you will see in the original text.
