I have read in literature from the 1800's where "list ye" was used to mean "listen." So, "come list ye" would probably mean "come and listen." During that same era, "often" was sometimes shortened to "oft" and "open" to "ope." IMO, the most likely place to find these forms would be in song lyrics.
