It refers to the Jurassic period. The time in which the dinosaurs lived is called the "Mesozoic Era." The Mesozoic Era is comprised of three main periods, or ages: the Triassic period (approximately 248 to 206 million years ago), the Jurassic period (approximately 206 to 144 million years ago), and the Cretaceous period (approximately 144 to 99 million years ago). Note that not all the dinosaurs depicted in Jurassic Parklived in the Jurassic period. Many were extinct by then, or, conversely, had not come into existence yet. The movie was called Jurassic Park simply because "Jurassic Park" has a nice ring to it, while "Triassic Park" and "Cretaceous Park" just don't sound as good to the ear. Also, the Jurassic period was the middle period -- the height of the age of the dinosaurs.
This inaccurate naming was probably a reference to how little John Hammond- the park's in-universe creator- knew about the situation at hand.
