Best Answer

Formulas you need for single phase calculations. KVA = I x E/1000, KW = I x E x pf (where pf = power factor). For your question multiply the KVA by the power factor to get KW and then move the decimal point three places to the right to get watts. They are virtually the same. A watt is volts times amps. KVA is thousand of volts time amps.

KVA and KW ratings are the same.

How many KVA is 8000 watts?

8,000 watts = 8 kVA / (the power factor) If the power factor is 1, then 8 kVa = 8,000 watts.

How many watts make 1 kva?

0 - 1000. KVA times a power factor gives you kilowatts, 1000 x watts. If the power factor is 0, then o watts make up your one kVA; if the power factor is 1, then 1000 watts make up your one kVA. Typical power factor is in the range of .8 to 1.

What is 63 Kva generator power to watts?

It could be as much as 63 kW (63,000 Watts) into a load with a power factor of 1.0. For other loads, multiply the kVA by the power factor.

How do you convert horsepower to KVA?

The term horsepower has several definitions, depending on usage. According to WikiPedia, the Electric Motor usage is 746 watts. One kva (kilo-volt-amp) is 1,000 watts, so you might be able to say that one kva is 746,000 watts. Unfortunately, kva depends on phase angle and, except for a power factor of one (purely resistive), kva is not the same as kw (kilo-watts). How many KVa is 5600 watts with the pf of 0.95?

There are ~5.9 kVA with 5600 watts and a power factor of 0.95. power factor is defined as the real power (watts) divided by the complex power (volt amperes): .95 = 5600/VA VA = 5600/.95 = 5894.7VA = 5.89kVA

What is the power of AC generators measured in kW or kVA?

Yes, you can use both, but watts is more useful; it provides the total amount of power the generator can output.
