Afriad of better flies
Mottephobia or Lepidopterophobia. Answer 2 by Terrier23: Since there is no actual name for the fear of butterflies, they use these two because they are for the phobia of moths, and moths and butterflies are practically the same. Mottephobia is the fear of moths with Lepidopterophobia is the fear of Jipsy Moths
While there is no official name for the phobia of butterflies, it has been linked to Mottephobia (Fear of Moths), or a name such as Lepidopterophobia (based on Lepidopterans - the order of insects including butterflies, moths, etc.).
People may be afraid of butterflies due to a condition called lepidopterophobia, which is a fear of insects with wings, such as butterflies and moths. This fear may stem from negative experiences with insects or butterflies in the past, a general fear of insects, or a fear of the unpredictability of their flight patterns.

butterflies are harmless creatures so tell yourself there is no need to be scared. butterflies aren't seen around that often so try your best to ignore it and maybe the fear will go away. This is an irrational fear. The person usually knows butterflies are harmless, but s/he is powerless to do anything about it. Hypnosis is an excellent way to deal with the fear. (I used to be skeptical about hypnosis, but have been using it for sports performance and am very impressed.)
