Please write your question in a complete sentence. What do you want to know ABOUT Macbeth's final battle? Macbeth didnt use magic as they thought it was wrong so they had a battle without magic :) Macbeth thought magic is rubbish,, so they had a battle with fists :):)
At the end of the Shakespearean play, Macbeth [c. 1014-August 15, 1057] and Macduff ended up on the same part of the battlefield outside the royal castle of Dunsinane. Macbeth had been warned by the three witches, in Act 4 Scene 1, to beware of Macduff. He had had Macduff's entire family and household slaughtered, in Act 4 Scene 2. Macduff came in calling names and swinging his sword about. But Macbeth initially didn't want to fight him. He didn't want to cause any more blood to be shed in the Macduff family and household. In fact, he said, '...my soul is too much charged/With blood of thine already' [Act 5 Scene 8 Lines 5-6]. Macbeth was assuming that he needed to beware of Macduff's vindictiveness over the Fife Castle massacres. He didn't think for one minute that Macduff might be the dreaded mystery man 'not born of woman'. Macduff kept up the name calling and threats. Macbeth came out and said that the outcome was foredoomed. He clarified that he always would triumph over men born of women. At that point, Macduff revealed a startling fact. He had been delivered by Caesarian section from a dead mother. He therefore hadn't been born of a woman. Instead, he had been delivered from a corpse. Macbeth's reaction was one of shock and betrayal. He realized that he had been lured down an evil path with the false assurances of security from the three witches and their supervisor, Hecate. But he agreed to fight when Macduff ratcheted the name calling up to the level of 'coward' and 'tyrant'. The outstanding trait in Macbeth's character indeed was courage. He always had thrown himself into the very heat of the bloodiest battles. And this last, terminal battle was no exception.
Duncan loves Macbeth. Macbeth has got him out of a very sticky situation by defeating Macdonweald. Duncan is no military man and relies on people like Macbeth to keep him on the throne. He is genuinely grateful--his line "O, worthiest cousin" is heartfelt.
Duncan is, however, a poor judge of character. He is baffled by Cawdor's treachery: "There's no art to find the mind's construction in the face; he was a man on whom I built a perfect trust." He does not see that since Macbeth is his near relation and a far more able person than Malcolm or Donalbain, it is not surprising that he might grow to expect to be next in line for the throne. Duncan seems to be oblivious to these kinds of possibilities, blithely naming Malcolm as his heir and then expecting Macbeth to be happy about it.
Therefore Duncan loves, respects and is grateful to Macbeth without in the least wondering about what, if anything, Macbeth might be thinking or feeling.
In many ways, it is a relief that Macbeth is dead. His life was a torture to him, and he was no longer operating as an effective king. It is a relief to see him out of his misery and to see Scotland with some sort of chance to recover. But if, like me, you are not wholly comfortable with Malcolm as king, then there is a sense of regret. Had Macbeth not been persuaded to the murder of Duncan, he may have become king anyway, and would have made a much better one than Malcolm.
